Arcos de La Frontera to Olvera - Part 1

The next leg of the trip had two very distinct parts, the first being from Arcos to Puerto Serrano and covered a lot of changing ground. It becomes rural, isolated and wonderfully peaceful. I pass a lake or reservoir, turn over my shoulder for some amazing views of Arcos de La Frontera, and then the landscape becomes more agrarian.

There is some climbing but it was either case that i'd been doing for so many days, or it wasn't so steep but it doesn't stick in the memory like some of the other hauls along the route. The traffic dies off, Spain isn't so car filled in these areas as cities can be and often times its only the sound of stiff leaves in a light breeze.

It becomes sparse enough that artefacts like these crop up along the roadside.

Intermittent glades give way to more focused agriculture.

I approach Puerto Serrano and the second part of this leg begins to reveal itself, though not so long it deserves a page of its own.
